All projectsA lighting designer decides where light falls, at what intensity, in which colour temperature, and how it layers across a space so the architecture reads as intended after dark. That is different from a supplier, who sells fixtures. The design comes first; the fixtures are specified to deliver it.

By fixed project fee, by rate per square metre, or as a percentage of the lighting budget. The design fee is always quoted separately from the cost of the fixtures, so you can see exactly what you are paying for design and what you are paying for hardware.
During architectural and interior design, while ceilings, coves, joinery details and electrical routing are still on paper. At that stage lighting can shape the architecture itself. Joining after construction still helps, but the available options are considerably narrower.
Yes. On-site supervision through installation, plus final aiming and commissioning, is included in the comprehensive package. Adjustable fixtures arrive aimed at the factory default, so a scheme that is never commissioned after dark is never really delivered.
